Tooth-Colored Fillings

Closeup of smile during dental exam

In the past (and still at some practices today), fillings were made of a metallic material called amalgam. While its very strong and durable, it does have one major flaw: it always leaves a large, noticeable gray mark on a tooth. Thankfully, with a tooth-colored filling, Dr. Danice Nelsen Couch can fully restore a patient’s tooth without affecting its appearance.

Tooth-colored fillings are actually made of a composite resin material, and we can shade it to perfectly match a patient’s enamel color. This makes the filling itself practically invisible in the mouth, so patients are able to speak, chew, laugh, and smile without having to be self-conscious.
